    Art Bazaar 2012 - Tomorrow!!

Hi Friends and Strangers, although it seems that we're more like strangers these days! It's been a while since I last posted. Things are a little manic in the lead up to the last few markets of the year.

The good news is tomorrow is the annual Art Bazaar Market in Civic Park, Newcastle. The Art Bazaar is the Hunter premier art and design marketplace, featuring the regoins top practicing artist and designers selling unique gifts and  affordable artworks. It's my favourite market of the year and not just becuase we sell out of a lot of things, I get all of my Christmas shopping done too! It's a great place to pick up unusual gifts for my friends and family!

It's predicted to be 35+ degrees tommorrow, so bring your sunbrella's and have a great day out.

The Olive Tree Markets - Newcastle part 1

Newcastle is a wonderful place with a thriving and quite large arts scene and I just wanted to share with you some excellent local artists and craftsters who sell their wares at The Olive Tree Markets along with us at Howdy Stranger. I'm going to add this post in a few parts because there is over 100 stalls.. and i'm a big fan of lots of them!

The markets are held at the Junction Primary School on the 1st Saturday of every month, rain hail or shine.

    Sketch & Jones

The very talented Di Jones is the lady behind Sketch & Jones. Di prints, sews, cuts, draw and creates some fab wares and is a self professed 'fly by the seat of your pants crafter'. Di's stall is always full of bright bold colours and new crafty things!

    Ciao Meow

Robyn Nunan is the wonder behind Ciao Meow and her shop the Ciao Meow Galley (who stock Howdy Stranger goodies)!

Robyn's original jewellery is created from recycled bottle tops, which are wearable artworks that are unique, decorative fashionable items. The bottle tops are made into pendants and are used with beads, buttons and/or other found objects. You can buy Ciao Meow direct from the Ciao Meow Gallery or through madeit.com.au or Etsy
